ECB roadmap for return

ECB has just released the roadmap to return of recreational cricket. Currently step 3 of 5 awaiting government and medical approval to move to step 4 when safe to do so. We took the tough decision to keep everything shut down so far as the facilities we have just aren’t good enough to support training with all the required restrictions. Rest assured as soon as it is safe to do so we look forward to seeing you down the club!

Thank you so much to Bc Vw for their generosity in raising £121 for our covid 19 fund. The ECB have also now donated £100 for reaching their set target. Thank you again and we are so grateful.

Successful Grant Application

Blackley Cricket Club is delighted to announce that we have been successful in our grant application to Manchester City Councils Parklife/Neighbourhood Investment Fund. The Club has been awarded almost £23,000 towards the first phase of our ground and facilities refurbishment project aimed at widening participation in Cricket and related activities for the benefit of the Blackley community. the first phase includes a new roof for the clubhouse, new toilets including facilities for the disabled, new windows, improved insulation and heating. Work on the project will begin as soon as the current Coronavirus restrictions allow and the club will be seeking the help of volunteers to carry out some of the work. The Club wishes to thank Manchester City Councils Higher Blackley Neighbourhoods Team, MCR Active and the Higher Blackley City Councillors for their assistance in making this happen.

Women’s Softball Cricket

Blackley C.C. are delighted to announce that we are planning to launch Women’s Softball Cricket at Crab Lane in this coming season. Women’s Softball is about maximum fun with minimum fuss cricket for women of all ages regardless of fitness or skill levels. Training Cancelled

In line with current advice regarding Coronavirus, the Club has taken the decision to cancel both the Wednesday Senior and Saturday Junior indoor training sessions at Our Lady’s High School Sports Hall for the foreseeable future . As you will understand this is a developing situation and we will keep you posted via the website and Facebook page regarding any updates.
